Latino Voices Should Drive Policy
Latino residents make up 18% of Rhode Island’s population. Their representation in elected office, on boards, and in civic institutions does not reflect that number. LPI works to close that gap.
What We Do
We run voter registration drives and advocacy trainings. We help communities understand how local government works and how to engage with it. We build the civic infrastructure that gives Latino residents a real presence in Rhode Island’s political process.
Recent Work
The Latino Policy Institute advances civic engagement across Rhode Island’s Latino community through education, coalition building, and direct advocacy. LPI breaks down complex government processes and creates space for meaningful civic conversation.
LPI is also an active partner in the RI Voting Access Coalition, supporting the Rhode Island Voting Rights Act and Same Day Voter Registration, with community members testifying at the State House to make their voices heard.
